OiTBC-MSMES is an innovative project funded by the Erasmus+ Program, aimed at supporting micro and small businesses in Europe. These businesses face significant challenges due to the new regulations introduced by European Directive 2019/1023, which sets rules for preventive restructuring and debt relief. The directive offers a unique opportunity for companies to reorganize their finances and avoid bankruptcy, fostering a sustainable recovery environment and encouraging a “second chance” culture.
The OiTBC-MSMES project aims to create an observatory dedicated to monitoring the application of the directive in key European Union countries, analyzing its impact on small businesses and promoting good business management practices. Our mission is to ensure that companies take full advantage of the new regulations, adapting to these changes in an efficient and profitable manner.
European Directive 2019/1023 was designed to harmonize the rules for restructuring and insolvency across EU Member States, allowing financially troubled companies to find quick solutions to avoid bankruptcy. However, many micro and small businesses are still not sufficiently informed about the opportunities this legislation offers to improve their management and ensure long-term sustainability. The OiTBC-MSMES project aims to bridge this knowledge gap by providing companies with the tools and information they need to navigate this new legal framework.
The OiTBC-MSMES project focuses on three main objectives:
Throughout the OiTBC-MSMES project, we developed a series of initiatives to ensure that companies are fully prepared for the changes. These include:
Report on the Transposition of the Directive: The purpose of this report was to analyze how Directive 2019/1023 was implemented in various EU countries. Through this study, we identified best practices and key challenges, providing small businesses with a clear understanding of how these changes may impact their reality.
Survey of MSMES: This survey aimed to understand the level of awareness among small businesses regarding the new rules. Based on the results, we were able to identify areas where additional support and training were needed
Documentation Platform: We developed an online platform that gathers all essential information about Directive 2019/1023. Here, businesses can access reports, guidelines, and best practices to stay informed and well-prepared for upcoming changes.
Virtual Seminar: The seminar was designed to provide micro and small businesses with the tools they need to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the new legislation. It was an opportunity to discuss how to improve business management and closely monitor performance.
The OiTBC-MSMES project aims to achieve tangible results for both its partners and its beneficiaries. The main outcomes include:
